Trade Conversion Austrian Cavalry Pistol
Originally made as an Austrian Model 1851 Tube Lock, dragoon pistol. Later converted to the percussion system by the gun trade for civilian use around 1855. The .66 caliber, smoothbore barrel measures 9 ¾ inches with the whole pistol measuring 16 ½ inches. In excellent condition and working order. $2,250 Shop 19
c1855 State Militia U.S. Model 1842 by Johnson
U.S. model 1842 percussion pistol made by Ira N. Johnson in 1855. The .54 caliber, smoothbore barrel measures 8 ½ inches with the whole pistol measuring 14 inches. The US Government contract for these pistols expired in 1853 making this a State Militia pistol. Long barrel English over under pistol
An unusual composite long barrelled boxlock over under percussion pistol. The boxlock, hammers and extended back strap are finely foliate engraved. The lower barrel has London proofs but there is no makers mark or name anywhere on the pistol.
