Fiddes Supreme Wax Range
- Toluene free
- Quick drying
- Low aromatic
- Excellent results on bare or sealed wood
- Several colour shades
Formulated to offer excellent results on bare or sealed wood, Fiddes Supreme Wax Polish contains a unique, environmentally friendly blend of waxes that naturally enhances the beauty of your wood.
Available in several carefully selected shades, the Supreme Wax range exhibits significant advantages over many traditional toluene based wax polishes. Supreme Wax is virtually odour free, easy to apply, and once buffed to the desired sheen level, provides a depth of finish that revives and protects any original patina.
PREPARATION
Sand the wooden substrate in stages, working with a medium sandpaper (120 grit), through to a medium / fine grade (180 –220 grit). Always sand in the direction of the grain pattern where possible, ensuring the removal of any blemishes and glue residue prior to the application of Fiddes Supreme Wax. Take care to remove all traces of sanding dust and test the chosen Fiddes Supreme Wax shade on a similar substrate to verify the colour. A coat of Shellac Sealer is recommended on open grained woods prior to application.
APPLICATION
Take a clean cotton cloth, sponge or brush and apply in the direction of the wood grain where possible. To obtain a uniform colour, always wipe evenly, blending the Supreme Wax over the whole surface area by exerting a small degree of pressure when applying by hand. Take care to lightly remove any excess Supreme Wax immediately with a separate, clean absorbent cloth, again following the direction of the grain pattern.
Leave to dry for around 3 minutes, and buff to finish with a soft cloth.
The application of additional coats will deepen the existing colour / shade and significantly enhance the resulting sheen level.

Howards Wax and Related Products
NANA's PEARLS (shop 22) always stocks a good selection from the extensive Howard Product range.
Howard Products were introduced in America in 1969 and innovative items such as Restor-A-Finish, Feed-N-Wax and Orange Oil quickly became established in the antiques trade. They came to Australia in 1991 and quickly gained great popularity and a reputation for being reliable.
Restor-A-Finish comes in eight popular wood tints and can easily remove heat rings, water marks and fine scratches from antique furniture without adversely affecting shellac, varnish, lacquer or patination. It is also an easy way to totally rejuvenate tired, dull and oxidised finishes. For a quick on-line demo, click on this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxGywDuEwJ8e for a YouTube clip.
Howard #0000 cabinetmakers grade steel wool is used to apply the Restor-A-Finish to problem surfaces; it will not scratch when used as directed.
Feed-N-Wax was the first stable liquid furniture wax on the market back in 1970. This gel-like product is a combination of beeswax, carnauba (the hardest wax obtainable) and orange oil. The beeswax softens the harder carnauba wax and the orange oil liquefies the mixture making it very easy to apply and buff to rich, low lustre finish. Howard Orange Oil was the very first orange oil made for furniture ever to be introduced back in 1970. Unlike a number of similar products that came later, Howard orange oil doesn’t significantly darken wood finishes and does not stay greasy. A light spray will clean away dust, dirt and build-up then polishes quickly to a lovely clean shine. The natural orange aroma lingers in a refreshing and not overpowering way.
