1896 Remington Standard "Understrike" typewriter
Now HERE'S an oldie! 1896 Remington Standard (USA) "Understrike" typewriter. Model # 6, this is an early shift key manual, by Wyckoff, Seamans & Benedict (New York). 4 banks, it has 38 keys and 2 Shift keys, no case and was obsolete by 1910! Serial number 22903. Given it is 126 years old and still working (just, but not all that well) it is definitely a display item, not a typewriter anyone could or would want to use as a working typewriter. It's a fine piece of rare technology history. $395 Shop 27
