Pair Victorian brass mermaid wall sconces
c1880 pair British made brass wall sconces. Made for gas lighting, now wired for electricity. Winged mermaids/sirens with excellent detail to the cast (see image below). This pair was removed during renovations in the 1950s from the Georgian showrooms (84 Brooke Street, London-off Mayfair) of noted Danish born milliner to the Queen Mother and Queen Elizabeth II, Aage Thaarup (1906-1987). His business was active from the 1930s-1970s and a Wikipedia biography can be found here:

Pair Von Schierholz Porcelain table lamps
Imposing pair of c. mid 20thc. electric table lamps by Von Schierholz Porcelain, Germany. Hand decorated figural "May Day" theme, each lamp with two young couples dancing around the maypole. Floral decoration over all, domed shade with lattice piercework, raised floral catouches with lithophane 'cameo' images which are highlighted when lamp is illuminated. Each with three screw-in globes, new made-for-Australia 3-pronged electric plugs. A few small losses to floral decorations (a miracle really, given the fragility of the construction!) Very groovy 1930s/40s art deco suspension light. Metal frame, three vertically inserted slip shades, chain and original rosette. Each of the glass slip shades are beautifully etched and look fantastic when the globe is illuminated. Martin Boyd Pottery Fort Denison lamp
Rare. 1950s Australian pottery electric lamp base from the Martin Boyd Pottery (Sydney). Hand decorated in the round with a Sydney harbour scene depicting Fort Denison in 1882. Features the fort, four tall ships and two sailors rowing. The dark band around the shoulder is over-painted with "Fort Denison Sydney 1882" and includes a stylised nautical weather vane.
